What Is Silence Therapy

The therapeutic use of silence to help improve our sense of general well-being is called Silence Therapy.

Silence Therapy harnesses the power of silence to reduce stress, induce a sense of calm, and usher in serenity.

What is Silence? Putting it simply, silence is the absence of sound. It is to be quiet.

It bears different meanings when used in different situations.

For example, silence in an argument might mean anger, while silence in meditation is linked to peace and serenity.

In today's world, it is difficult to be completely silent. For even in a place of silence there will be the occasional noise.

Noise usually consists of a series of unpleasant sounds.

The sounds of traffic, large crowds, constant ringings of phones are examples of unpleasant sounds.

Human beings tend to like pleasant sounds, such as the chirping birds, the breeze, wind chimes, etc.

Most forms and techniques of Meditation involve silence as a key component.

In fact, it is rare to practice meditation without silence.

Silent Meditation is meditating in silence. It might be difficult to attain peace of mind without silence.

It might be nearly impossible to connect with your inner voice without practicing meditation in silence.

Silent Meditation is the pathway to one's soul. It is one the best ways to understand yourself better.

To practice Silence Therapy, all you need is a place of peace and quiet, a room that is devoid of noise, away from distractions.

Then simply sit or lay down and focus on the silence that exists around you.

In such a state of silence, you will experience peace, calm and serenity.

The most beautiful elements in Nature stay in silence. Be it the flowers, the plants or the trees.

Similarly the sun goes about its duties in silence. So does the moon.

Silence is powerful, when used correctly. You cannot really listen when you aren't silent.

Praying in silence brings peace to one's mind. Being silent is essential while practicing Meditation.

There is great wisdom in spending time in silence and solitude on a daily basis.

We can easily feel serene and calm once we are spending time on our own in silence.
