There are many international film festivals in India but the topmost or best film festivals are the International Film festival of India & the Mumbai International Film Festival. Besides these, the fastest growing and possibly the only real independent film festivals are the film festivals organised by SDIMS in Mumbai, India. Enoma International Film Festival(EMFF) for feature films is from 14th to 16th March in Mumbai. We are now accepting entries for the same. Feature films must be films more than 30 minutes in duration to qualify for screenings at Enoma Mumbai Film Festival. The best feature films get prizes of Rs.10000, Rs.5000 & Rs.2000 respectively.
SDIMS is ranked in the top 5 for the search terms "international film festivals in Asia" by Google. This proves the high standards of the screened films, jury quality, festival atmosphere, etc. The biggest strength of Pumelo is that we screen mainly films produced in the last 2 years and not older films. This year we are screening over 60 films from over 20 countries. A true delight for any world cinema lover. Passes are free and going quickly.....

Pumelo International Film Festival is from 14th to 16th March in Mumbai, India. We have a competition for best film based on audience choice & we award prizes for best director, best cinematography, best music, best short, best script, best actor, best actress, best documentary, etc. The films screened at Pumelo International Film Festivals in Asia are selected by a jury comprising of Savio DSilva & Savio DSilva. All prize winners are sent a Pumelo Award.
Pumelo is a Non-Profit festival funded by SDIMS. Pumelo is growing and requires all the support from the best indie film makers in the world with their presence, films & mentions on their profiles, websites & DVD covers. We expect more film makers coming to India for our film festivals in the coming years. Thank you for your time & effort. It goes a long way towards ensuring we keep our festival free for the public so that more fans can view the films & enjoy the best of world cinema.
Yensa Short Film Festival(YSFF) is on 15th March in Mumbai. We are now accepting entries for the same. Short films must be films less than 30 minutes in duration to qualify for screenings at our short film festivals. The best 3 short films get prizes of Rs.5000, Rs.3000 & Rs.1000 respectively.
There are other film festivals of note, such as the Bangalore International Film Festival, the Chennai International Film Festival, the Pune International Film Festival, the Mumbai International Film Festival, the Kerala International Film Festival and of course, the New Delhi International Film Festival. For indie film makers, India is the largest film making country of the world with a huge cinema loving audience. To showcase or get screened in India at one of the top film festivals is a huge portfolio bonus for any independent film maker. Unfortunately, most film makers and best indie film directors are totally unaware about the huge film market potential in India because they tend to focus more on the American and European markets.
Participate as a film director, film maker or movie fan in the heart of the world's largest film making industry - India. If you are not in India, you are obviously missing a great deal.
The first Pumelo International Film Festival(PIFF) ended in 2006 after screening just 3 films with an audience of just 17 people. This year, we have the world's best independent film directors screening their films. Over 65 different indie films in 4 days at 2 venues with an expected audience of 500 film fans makes the Pumelo International Film Festival the fastest growing film festival in Asia.

Due to the increasing global popularity of Yensa, Pumelo, Enoma & Isavo festivals we are on the lookout for sponsors wanting international exposure through our events & festivals in Mumbai, India.
Along with the films are workshops on script writing, camera work, method acting, photography, etc. There are opening & closing ceremonies which selected delegates can attend. Film buffs & the general public can collect their free delegate passes from Enoma for the Film Festivals now. Movie directors & film makers whose films are being screened at our Film Festivals are issued free VIP passes.
Our film festivals are an assortment of inspirational films, love stories, comedies, serious and fascinating documentaries, independent Features, short films, animated films and family films that will delight our community.
The Festivals are committed to involving and helping our community. We plan to work with several local groups that help people with various life difficulties, providing free festival passes for these individuals.
With our staff, our student volunteers, our sponsors and donors we are poised to bring you glorious days of the finest variety of cinema anywhere. Come and interact with our filmmakers and watch some amazing films.
The film festivals will continue to provide an exposition of the many approaches to cinema from around the world while simultaneously offering practical workshops, seminars and lectures by regional and asian filmmakers in order to stimulate ideas as well as gather the technical skills to execute them here in Bombay or Mumbai.
The festivals will continue its special focus on independent cinema which is so rarely seen in Asia or India. By creating regional programmes and by continuing to create a network of individuals and organizations the festival hopes to become a platform to inspire a film culture in Mumbai and rest of Asia.
Bollywood & Hindi Films continue to dominate the film circuit in Mumbai & many parts of India but the time has come for a great change in awareness & improvement in the mindsets of the movie watchers. The youth & many other citizens are demanding a more fruitful cinema watching experience. That's where the Pumelo Independent Film Festival, Yensa Short Film festival & Enoma Mumbai Film Festival come in.
We have established the goal to inspire experiment and collaborations between different artistic disciplines and the moving image to enhance an active critical/cultural field driven by strong independent ideas.
To be known as filmmakers' festivals, the annual Film Festivals offer a high-profile, prestigious and learning environment perfect for celebrating the best in independent and world cinema. The Festival highlights current trends in international film and video production with an emphasis on work that has not yet secured indian distribution.
The festivals aim at creating a platform for solidarity and better understanding among the independent short and documentary filmmakers from Asia, Africa and other parts of the globe- irrespective of nationality, creed, colour and gender.
The festival welcomes films of artistic value, creative expression and social committment upholding peace, cultural harmony, sustainable ecology and rights of women.
In order to broaden the nature and scope of the Pumelo Film Festival, the word 'International' has been added to its title, because the true spirit of short films or creative cinema in general lies in their independence from the establishment of commercial film production and distribution.
